The advising office at A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications is for all JMC students, minors, and students interested in changing their major into our program. Advising is about more than just picking our your classes. Your advisor is here to help you with goal setting, share information about graduation requirements and course selections, help with transitions, share referrals to other campus resources and support you through your experience at K-State.
Make sure you download and use the K-State Academic Advising Syllabus. This tool will guide you through academic advising from before your first class through graduation. It includes a checklist to help you stay on track. There are two parts, the university-wide academic advising syllabus and our supplemental department checklist that includes specifics for JMC majors. You should bring your syllabus with you to each advising meeting.
