Kylie Kinley is one of the academic advisors for major, pre-major, and minor students.
After growing up on a farm near Bladen, Neb., Kylie majored in journalism at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln while working for her hometown newspaper, The Blue Hill Leader.
She earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in English from UNL in 2011 and a Master’s of Arts in English with focuses in Creative Writing and Children’s Literature from K-State in 2013. After graduation, she taught English composition, literature, and creative writing classes in K-State’s English department and worked for K-State First as a learning assistant coordinator. She left K-State to serve as a public information officer and assistant editor for the Nebraska State Historical Society and returned to K-State to continue teaching, advising and working with students in the A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
Her articles have appeared in The K-Stater, The Nebraska Farmer, Nebraska History Magazine, NEBRASKAland, and the History Nebraska blog. She was the ghost writer of the book Wings Over Nebraska and a co-author of The K-State First Guide to Student Success.
Kylie enjoys reading, writing, grilling, working outside, and rural shenanigans.
